At first, all of our alpacas at Windy Hill were of the
Chilean bloodtype.
|
| Wayne went to the Chilean Andes and imported part of
our herd for genetic diversity. Some of our animals were purchased from
other breeders and sellers and some were born on our farm. With the
addition of two magnificent Chilean herd sires, Codi and
Midnight, we were able to start our selective breeding program
on our farm. Our results have been outstanding! |

Alpacas in the Chilean Andes

With
our most recent addition of My
Peruvian Marriott, we are enhancing our breeding program to
obtain even greater fleece density and crimp in our already
magnificently colored Chileans.
At present our alpaca herd consists of
over 40 fabulous animals in all ranges of colors from black, shades of brown, fawn, and rare
gray and rose grays. We are proud to say our alpacas possess high standards of conformation and
fleece and are all registered full blood Huacayas.
We are
proud members of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association as well as the Southeastern
Alpaca Association.
